The last Saturday morning was not really cheering at all, especially for surfers living in the North San Diego County. It became a typical, June Gloomy early morning that I checked surf online and exhaled a deep sigh for quite a bit on-shore condition. If it was not the morning of June 16th 2010, I would definitely go back to sleep. But it was another hazy morning, of a fun event.
Yes, Patagonia Cardiff held a Surfboard Swap Meet on the last Saturday. So under the gray dense sky, we drove down to the shop with a great hope: sell some boards we do not ride anymore and get some new-used boards!! And the shop invited the Mattson 2 to play some live actions for the event, too. How exciting is that??
The Surfboard Swap Meet began around 8:00AM. Very cheerful, enthusiastic swells of people were hitting the parking of Patagonia Cardiff. Just like a big Marché in European countries, the dynamics of communication and conversation were seen everywhere. All crowds just seemed having fun and excited. Little later the Mattson 2 showed up, and started playing their things; the heat of gathering got its summit.
Also the inside of Patagonia Cardiff was really packed too because they had 40%-off sale on their great quality wetsuits. So I felt like being in positive human-energy circulation, in-and-out of the store. So many selling and buying happened, and everybody looked pretty happy.
This June Gloom will go away very soon hopefully. Yet if there is more interesting events like this swap meet, it can be okay. By the way, I was going to downsize my quivers, but somehow the number increased. Well, thanks Patagonia Cardiff and crews!!
