Fall is here now and we have already had some chilly rains falling. It is good for me because I only surf, and work, in the summer. Nowadays I can spend more quality time reading books, and going to parties. Recently, Japanese illustrator Yusuke Hanai opened his solo exhibition, FLAKE, at the Surf Indian in Pacific Beach, CA.
The opening night of FLAKE, was incredible. The Mattson 2 played their new tunes to an excited audience. There were quite a few people at the exhibition and I immediately recognized several faces like Tyler Warren, Josh Hall, Dave Allee of Almond Surfboards & Designs, Gene Cooper, Heather Brown, and Kyle Lightner. The night was a little bit chilly, but the place became too hot for even t-shirts due to the excitement of crowd. People were walking around inside of the
store, carefully checking Yusuke's art and syncing their steps to the tempo. The show was was very fun, Yusuke's pieces should be up for a while. You certainly need to swing by the Surf Indian, when coming down to the PB area, to see his great work. Keep an eye on their website because you won't want to miss any of their upcoming interesting events.
