One of the coolest joints on the So Cal coast is The Surf Gallery, known for it’s great events and showings that are often somehow tied into creating awareness or raising funds for various causes.

The Surf Gallery can be credited with giving the first public opportunities of note and a platform to some of the most creative and up coming artists and photographers from all over the world in the last few years. The Gallery is also the spot to catch some of the legends works as well, Let’s mention Wolfgang Bloch, Andy Davis, Rob Machado, Rick Griffin, Tyler Warren, Harry Daly, Thomas Campbell, Alex Kopps, Koji Toyoda, Andrew Kidman, LeRoy Grannis and so many others.
Keeping with its good intention Will Pennartz and the Surf Gallery hosted a small gathering and silent auction to raise money for SurfAid International. Todd Hannigan filled the roomwith his slow vibe sounds and the party was on.

The show included were several surfboards, two insane traditional San Diego Fish designed and shaped by Richie Pavel and a surfboard donated by Will Tant and Jedidiah that was autographed by Will, Brad Gerlach, Sonny Miller, Martin Daly and upcoming surf stars Chris Waring and Dane Ward. The board was covered with amazing original artwork by Kelli Murray.
Also donated was art by Wolfgang Bloch, Harry Daly, Andy Davis, Tyler Warren and other Surf Gallery regulars. The Photographers of note included a rare piece by Rob Machado and amazing photos by David Pu’u and Rob Giley.
Check out photos of Wolfgang and Tyler discussing styles, The Billabong girls fawning over their prize Bloch piece. It was a great event and if you are anywhere near Laguna you need to make sure to stop by the gallery.
