The festival kicks off on Wednesday October 6th with “Girls Night Out”, the film “Accidental Icon” about the real Gidget. Kathy “Gidget” Kohner Zuckerman will be live signing her book.
Then the Fest goes Rocking into the 2nd night Oct. 7th with a live performance by Donavon and his band kicking off their national tour in support of the new album “GLOW” releasing October 5th. Donavon Frankenreiter first caught my musical attention with his hit “Free” and mellow songs like “It Don’t Matter To Me” and “Our Love”off his self-titled release from 2004. Come see the live in down home Oceanside, enjoy a great show and support the museum at the same time. The show it’s at an amazing old style 450 seat movie theatre called the Grace at 102 N. Freeman in downtown Oceanside California.
The Festival events includes; Friday nights Big Wave Night Presented by Jim Beam Big Wave World Tour with films and legends of big wave riding on hand. The Festival with showcase many films, over 22 feature and short surf films including award winning films will show at the Grace and also the Sunshine Brookes Theatres.
See “Fiberglass & Megapixels”, “God Went Surfing”, Patrick Trefz new film “Idiosyncrasies”, from Japan “Japan: Style is Everything” and the much anticipated release from Quiksilver about Julian Wilson, “Scratching The Surface”.
