This is a great film. I just have to start with that simple statement. I’ve seen some entertaining films in the last year like “Surfwise”, important films like anything from Nathan Oldfield and some well done proper features like “Bra Boys”.
Between the Lines is simple, yet poignant, deep but not boring and an altogether captivating story that tells of a very different side of the surf experience from the 70’s. What happens when War gets thrown in your way. A one of a kind seriously well done documentary.

I’ll cover the film more in depth later as the DVD is not out yet and the film is on tour. I wouldn’t want to spoil it.
We’ll have some words with Scott Bass, one of the directors and creator of the film, so be sure to check back for the in depth film review and our talk with Scott. If you live in the San Diego area make sure to see the film April 18th at the Crest Theatre in Oceanside.
