Super cool idea of the month has to be BAKED DONUTS at Beach City Baked Donuts in Redondo Beach. On the border between Redondo and Hermosa down the famous Pacific Coast highway you’ll find the well styled minimalistic shop in the home of what looks like an old style donut shop. The BCBD owners hail from Japan, Koji the owner from Osaka and his wife from Chigasaki. They have brought to California an oh-so California idea. Make the donuts not so bad for you...heck, why not make them actually Good for you??!! Well at least on the Healthy side that’s for sure.
Now I certainly must plan to go back and try more flavors but I tried three kinds. Green Tea, Cinnamon Sugar and Choco Rich. The coffee is great and for myself ice cold Organic Milk is recommended along with them or better yet try one of the various Dipping Sauces like chocolate or caramel.
Beach City Baked Donuts shop has an Eco vibe and I love the design & style. Even the owners are stylish. It’s also a dog friendly establishment. You can get a doggie bag of donuts for just under $3. Something new to try for sure, another hidden gem in Hermosa Beach, I am really beginning to love this place like I love Ventura.
